TAM SOUTH AMERICA AIRPASS
CONCEPT AND USE
TAM South America Airpass is an airpass for foreign nationals residing outside of South America who wish to travel to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela at attractive rates. To purchase the airpass, the passenger should: - purchase an international ticket for travel commencing outside of South America to destinations in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and/or Venezuela - request the airpass, which is issued in conjunction with the international ticket - the trip should be made on legs operated by JJ (TAM), JJ* (code-share flights with TAM Airlines/PZ) and/or PZ (TAM Mercosur) flights.
TAM South America Airpass offers from 1200 to 8200 miles, to be flown in Economy class.
Fares
TAM South America Airpass’ fares are calculated based on the mileage flown on all legs, covering a minimum of 2 (two) countries and a maximum of 5 (five) countries, and should not exceed the maximum of 8 (eight) coupons.

Discounts
- INF: 10% of adult fare
- CHD: children pay adult fare.
Minimum/Maximum Stay
- Minimum: 5 days, from departure date of first leg
- Maximum: 30 days, from departure date of first leg
Baggage Allowance
- The baggage allowance for domestic legs covered by the South America Airpass is the same as that permitted on international legs. In the event of excess baggage, 1% of the “Y” fare for the leg in question will be charged per extra kilo.
Validity
- Ticketing: until 31 March 2010.
- Travel: until 30 December 2010.
Routing
- Route must include at least 2 (two) countries within the area covered by the airpass.
- Maximum of 8 (eight) flight coupons permitted, with a maximum of 5 (five) flight coupons per country.
- The same leg may not be flown more than once in the same direction, except for connections.
- The same city may not be used as an origin/destination more than once, except for connections.
- Each leg flown corresponds to one coupon.
Stopovers and Connections
- A maximum of 4 stopovers within Brazil and 2 within other countries will be permitted in addition to the point of origin/destination.
- If the connection exceeds 24 hours, it will be considered as a stopover.
- “Surfaces” are not considered as flight coupons.
All legs must be confirmed before departure. Booking classes may vary according to legs: o Domestic – class “Z” o International – class “S” or “W” TAM SAP must be entered in the “OSI” field in the reservation
Ticketing
- Full purchase: outside of South America only (purchase and ticketing).
- Only one Airpass may be issued per passenger in conjunction with the international ticket (including AD/ID or award tickets)
- The Airpass ticket must be issued separately and must include the international ticket number.
- Applicable taxes (airport tax, security and additional taxes) must be charged when issuing the airpass.
- Tickets are non endorsable.
- PTA is not permitted.
- TAM SAP / NON END must appear in the endorsement/restriction field.
- Fare basis – SSATAM09 or WSATAM09 or SSAYY09 or WSAYY09
- Fare constructions and combinations are not permitted.
Changes
- Rebooking permitted at any time subject to the payment of US$ 100.00 per transaction, on condition that the same fare is maintained
- Rerouting: not permitted
Cancellation / Refund
- Before departure: Fully refundable. Penalty: US$ 100.00
- After departure: Non refundable.
TAM Fidelity Program points
- Legs flown using the airpass will accumulate 90% of their full points value under the Fidelity Program.
